The 2026 SL Roadster represents the evolution of a legend—merging open-top freedom with the engineering pedigree of Mercedes-AMG®. Designed as a true grand touring roadster, the SL brings together muscular performance, top-down luxury, and striking aesthetics in a vehicle built for drivers who expect emotion with every mile.
Its silhouette is long, wide, and low, with a sculpted front end and a retractable soft top that opens or closes in around 15 seconds at speeds up to 37 mph. The use of lightweight materials, including aluminum and composite elements, helps maintain agility while contributing to structural rigidity and performance.
Two AMG®-engineered powertrains are available. The SL 55 offers a handcrafted 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine delivering 469 horsepower, while the SL 63 pushes output to 577 horsepower. In the former you’ll from zero to 60 in 4.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 mph.
Both are mated to the AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® 9-speed transmission and feature fully variable AMG® Performance 4MATIC®+ all-wheel drive for confident traction in all conditions.
Inside, the SL cabin features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch central multimedia touchscreen that tilts electrically to reduce glare with the roof down. Performance seats, available in Nappa leather, hug the driver while offering long-distance comfort. The cabin also integrates active ambient lighting, available massaging functions, and a head-up display for maximum awareness without distraction.
Standard safety and driver assistance systems include ATTENTION ASSIST®, Blind Spot Assist, and Active Brake Assist, while available upgrades add lane centering, traffic jam assist, and a surround view camera.
